Monumental Classical Recital

Brooklyn Theatre TV presents

piano recital with Charl du Plessis
at the Voortrekker Monument

As the Covid-19 pandemic brought the entire world to a halt, Steinway Artist Charl du Plessis was invited to perform a classical piano recital at one of South Africa’s most iconic landmarks. Du Plessis is an award-winning interpreter of classical, jazz and crossover music and renowned for his pianistic versatility. After performing in some the world’s highly esteemed concert halls, he recorded this recital in his native city, Pretoria, during the national lockdown. In 2010 Du Plessis inaugurated the Brooklyn Theatre Steinway and for the first time ever this piano left the theatre for its unique open-air debut.
